Selected engagements delivered through OnlyASCII Ltd and beyond.

Since 2019, OnlyASCII Ltd has delivered production-engineering and SRE work for organisations running Cloud Foundry at serious scale — government, banking and enterprise platforms. This includes operating and decommissioning a national-scale PaaS, designing an air-gapped platform for a regulated bank, and maintaining the persistence layer for a major CF deployment. Every engagement is listed honestly — what shipped, what was decommissioned, and what was designed but never went live. The expertise is in the work itself, not the label.   1. EngineerBetter — SAP May 2024 – Present · Remote

    Production Engineer (SRE) Consultant via OnlyASCII

    • Production engineering for persistence services within the SAP Cloud Foundry platform — provisioning, operations and handling.
    • Onboard and train new engineers on BOSH and Cloud Foundry; foster a culture of automation and self-service.
    • Worked on software and AI-assisted engineering; built a tool that runs Claude Code inside a container while spinning up and configuring the company LLM proxy.
  2. GDS — Cabinet Office (GOV.UK) Oct 2022 – Mar 2024 · Remote

    Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) Consultant via OnlyASCII

    • SRE on the GOV.UK central platform service, maintaining and operating the Cloud Foundry PaaS through a critical staffing transition.
    • Automated platform operations in Go and Ruby for high availability and scale; maintained open-source BOSH releases and packages.
    • Decommissioned the platform with minimal disruption — planned and executed the retirement of a national-scale government PaaS.
  3. PagoNxt (Santander) Nov 2019 – Sep 2021 · Remote

    Production Engineer / Digital Transformation Expert via OnlyASCII

    • Designed and built an immutable, air-gapped PaaS on Cloud Foundry for Santander's regulated payments environment — architected for production, deployed to the air-gapped network, but the platform was not taken live before the project wound down.
    • Built a custom 'chaos monkey' BOSH release to simulate service issues across networks and services, increasing resilience.
    • Most experienced BOSH/Cloud Foundry engineer on the team; key role upskilling engineers. Introduced new BOSH packages and releases including python3, HA Postgres and HA Redis.
  4. EngineerBetter May 2017 – Oct 2019 · London

    Senior Software / Production (DevOps) Consultant

    • Client-facing Cloud Foundry and BOSH consultant; first assignment was a large multi-installation, immutable and air-gapped infrastructure project.
    • Led the rewrite of the platform automation tool 'Concourse-Up' in Go, enabling deployment to AWS and GCP.
    • Worked with the Pivotal Labs team supporting the Redis service for Cloud Foundry; delivered a new Kafka cluster BOSH release.
  5. Camelot Global Dec 2015 – May 2017 · London

    Senior Software Engineer (Full-stack / Mobile)

    • Built and rolled out the instant-win games platform using Java, Spring Boot and Cassandra.
    • Automated the team's testing process with Jenkins CI; started as a Node.js mobile developer on The National Lottery app.
